In our humble opinion, this is the best bar for the home gym or at least the most versatile. Being 200mm shorter, it is more manageable for moving around the gym, loading/unloading, plates, etc. But it is still has options rated for 450kg or more.
If you are using bumper plates, you might run out of room on the sleeves between 160-180kg. If you are using competition or cast iron plates, you probably can fit more than 320-360kg. That's why we refrain from calling it a "women's" Olympic barbell.
The Advanced Olympic barbell is suited for intermediate lifters or beginners with a sporting background who already have a base level of strength.
The Advanced Olympic barbell has the following upgrades compared to our Rookie and Intermediate barbells:
- 8 x needle bearings instead of 4 on Rookie and Intermediate barbells
- Hard chrome plating (more durable) instead of bright chrome plating on Rookie bar
- Alloy steel instead of C45 steel
- Increased strength rating
If your training space is a little cramped, consider one of our Advanced 2.0m barbells. Remember, the overall weight of the loaded bar with plates is what matters - not the weight of the empty bar.
